In the very heart of industrial Kryvyi Rih, where the air is thick with the dust of daily life and factory smoke, there is a place filled with love, care, and hope. It sounds like a fairy tale, and the name fits — “Feia” (Fairy), a home for rescued animals. Но this is no fiction. It is a real sanctuary created by Leila — a fragile but incredibly strong woman who performs miracles every single day.
Leila always knew that her calling was to help. It all started many years ago when she took in her first abandoned dog. That sick and exhausted animal was the beginning of a long journey. One rescued life led to another, and she could not turn away. What began as a small shelter in her backyard eventually turned into a true home — not just for animals, but for hundreds of abandoned souls.
Today, Leila cares for 106 dogs and 52 cats. Each of them is a world of its own. Among them are “special” ones — injured animals, those with disabilities, and those whom others might have given up on. But not Leila. She treats them, sterilizes them, helps them get back on their feet, and welcomes each one as if they were the most precious creature in the world. In her shelter, you can see a dog in a wheelchair running happily across the yard, or a blind cat confidently finding its bowl, knowing that nearby are hands that will never cause harm. There are no unwanted souls here. Every soul is a favorite.
But Leila does more than just rescue — she finds homes for her rescues. She believes that somewhere there are people who will see not the appearance or age, but the heart. And again and again, despite the pain of parting, she lets her “children” go into new lives — to families ready to love them.
Leila coordinates our work in Kryvyi Rih, and we are proud to have the opportunity to support such an incredible person. Her strength lies in her faith — the faith that kindness can change the world, and that even a single shelter can become a true “Fairy” for hundreds of abandoned animals.
